Hansen – Redken Application

Rikki Hansen is a hair stylist that applied to be a Redken Artist. The application process involves a 30 minute video that showcases how the stylist teaches a class, and how well they can get their points across. Being in front of the camera is difficult, and Rikki hasn’t had much practice before this video. I was able to help her get comfortable speaking to the camera, and work closely with her to ensure that each message she was trying to get across made sense.

Projects like this can be difficult. Taking the time to make sure your subject is comfortable on camera is key to creating a video that looks and sounds natural. Setting up two cameras is also extremely important. It allows you to keep rolling when a person makes a mistake and reassure your subject that if they mess up they won’t have to completely restart what they were saying.
